This site is dedicated to Patrick Skehan and his wife Catherine (nee Barry) of O’Briensbridge Co. Clare, Ireland, who emigrated to Australia in July 1850.
They landed at Sydney on July 29th but moved to Victoria [Circa] 1854 and settled in Kilmore 35 Miles (56 Km) north of Melbourne;
To Patrick’s sister Catherine (Mrs John Minogue/Mannix) of O’Briensbridge Co. Clare Ireland, who also emigrated to Australia in 1850, settling in Queensland;
To our Grose (of Cornwall), McLeod (of Scotland), and Hawken/Hawkins (of Cornwall) family connections;
To Patrick and Johanna Noonan of Co. Limerick, Ireland, who also emigrated to Australia in the mid-1800s and settled in the Western District of Victoria;
And to William & Catherine (nee Shaw) Young of Scotland, who emigrated to Australia with their ten children in 1923. They also settled in Southern & Western Victoria.
And to commemorate those relatives and friends who gave so much of themselves during WWI and WWII.
